Day 8 - A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised
Saturday July 20 - Day 2 of the Women's Conference. Minister Tara challenged women to choose how we want to live this life..as the wise or as the foolish, as the Bridegroom is coming. How are we using the time He has given us? “God gave us 24 hours in a day because He knew that was just what was needed.”
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a time of prayer and recommitment of all the female leaders in the churches across the island who attended the conference. Praying for the spirit to strengthen them so they can continue to serve Him faithfully and they could continue to extend their impact to young and old, for His names sake. Tara also encouraged leaders to come together and be united in their mission and calling. The commissioning time with all the women at the front of the stage was such a precious site to see. God is pleased and glorified.
We ended the afternoon with lots of fun workshops with the women including lantern making, tote bag decorating, crafts using chopsticks and painting on plaques. - Joanne
Yesterday was my Faith’s 13th birthday.-she is officially a teen! Pray for us, please! 🙂
We had the privilege of facilitating a class together where we taught the ladies to make lanterns symbolizing the lanterns of the five wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. As she helped me with the lantern workshop, I casually shared it was Faith’s birthday. One of the ladies got very excited and told us July 20 is Lempira Day!* And she gave Faith a bill of 1 Lempira and every one signed it to wish her happy birthday! 🎂
As I reflected on the day and gave thanks for the Lord, I felt his intense love for my daughter… He knows Faith and loves her so much… Faith loves different currencies and postcards from different country!!! So this way of celebrating and marking her special day was very special!!! I am so touched. 🥰 I am also so grateful to this sweet woman who went out of her way to bless Faith. - Michelle
*Lempira Day is a Honduran holiday celebrated annually on July 20. It is dedicated to an indigenous leader of the Lenca people who led the resistance against the Spanish conquistadors in the 1530s.
