Day 7 - “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue"
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue" - Proverbs 31:26
Friday July 19 - Approximately 200 women attended the first day of the Women's Conference. What a powerful move of God tonight. This is just the beginning. The worship was awesome to God be all the glory. The interview hosted by Haydee and Darcie of Ms. Cheryl and Tia Darla was great. We heard the story of how Roatán Alive came to fruition by the partnership of their friendship. Darla heard the call from God and Cheryl has generously provided her school ESBIR, where most of our missions events are hosted.
The praise dance was phenomenal . The word of God spoken through Bible Teacher Melissa Spoelstra and translated by Bibiana was amazing. We learned to give our ashes to God and He will make beauty out of it (Isaiah 63:1-3). In everything, we must have a prayer life. We have to make sure that our lanterns keep burning and that there’s enough oil so we are ready for the return of Christ 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 The congregation responded to the service really well. I know that God has truly blessed and met us right where we are. Four women gave their lives to Christ and many others committed to following Jesus in a deeper way. To God be all the glory🙏🏽 - Kimberley S.
This is my first time joining the Roatan Alive mission team and Friday night was my last night, (for this year). I served in registration on Friday night I got the opportunity to greet almost all the 160 women that attended. My heart was so full to see the excitement of the women as they were coming. Everyone regardless of their language sang along in English and Spanish. Melissa Spoelstra spoke about the ashes of our lives that come from bad choices, etc. She wrapped up by mentioning some of the good things ashes are used for.
When she asked who would commit to praying more/crying out to God, more than half the women stood up. It was like a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit came to ESBIR. The women hugged and prayed together. As the evening ended there were team member praying with women in the audience that didn't want to go up front. Certainly a Kingdom Adventure, indeed. Thanks be to God! - Veron
What a precious time spent with the ladies and a privilege to hear their personal stories on Friday night . Some ladies had to walk quite a distance in order to attend. Some didn’t have anyone to take care of their children, so they brought them along. We are thankful for the energetic teenagers on our team who stepped up and offered to care for the children during the event. It was such a joy to see the smiles on the kids’ faces as the teenagers played and interacted with them. It’s amazing how our amazing team members could use some magic tricks, stickers and colouring books and a competitive game of Simon Says to keep kids engaged and occupied for 3 hours on Friday night and later 7 hours on Saturday! God used the teenagers on our team to bless the women attending the conference so that they had a space to be filled up and encouraged and challenged, without any distractions. Praise God!
Day 1
Melissa shared her personal stories and experiences and shared with the women an encouragement on how to live a life that exemplifies someone who is ready! The theme for RAM is “Are you ready?”
Melissa challenged women to pray daily and consistently throughout all the seasons of life. “Anything that drives us to pray, is a gift”
It was powerful to see women moved through worship as worship is the antidote to worry and as Melissa had mentioned, worship helps to calm our spirits and grow us in our communication and communion with Him. We were all so moved as team members were able to pray for women who wanted to renew their commitment to prayer and worship and communion with God. What an encouragement! - Joanne
