DAY 4 - Tuesday July 16 - Our day started with a moving time of devotion lead by Miami team leader, Haydee, who had us each read a verse from 1 Samuel 20. She then lead us through the special friendship that David and Johnathan had which was highlighted in verse 17 "And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself." She reminded us all about the importance of friendship, being a friend and a God who calls us His friend. We closed with a powerful time of prayer; praying over and anointing all those who would participate in the Women's Conference later that night, as well as, the people and especially the youth of Roatan, who need to know Jesus as their friend.


The Lord blessed our first event with almost 400 women attending. What has been extremely remarkable and special has been for such a diverse team, having been assembled physically a mere 4 days prior, responding with such camraderie and teamwork. Glory to God. Everyone did their part to ensure that the women were loved on and welcomed from the moment that they entered the grounds of ESBIR, being registered by Shirley, Astrid, Rachel, Susie and Imelda, greeted and handed bags with goodies and water by Adrienne, Aleida, Monica, Clara, Joel, Noel and Trevor, ushered to their seats by Phil, Charles, Darren, and Dale, entertained by the sights and sounds of worship music, powered by the AV and tech team, Junior and Jay, child care provided by Giselle, Adrienne, Joel, Alex, Niel, Lisa, Eric, Isaac, Niya, Nadina and Kimani, warm welcoming by the MCs for the night, Darcie & Haydee, as well as, hostesses Darla & Cheryl, to the moving testimony by Nadina, monologue by Tierra, liturgical and worship dances by Kimberley, Monica, Clara and Smileyne,  empowering messages from Minister Tara (English) and Gianina (Espanol), musical worship by the Roatan Alive  Worship Choir and Band lead by cousins, Kimberley and Brianna, Dan, Giraldt and Shadram, Evelyyn B, Erin, Sarita, Lisa, Evelyn H, Tierra, Nadina, Smileyne, Ashley, and Jazzmine, pastor Darrell's prayerful and personal support during the day and finally the handing out of cookies and farewells as they left, the women of Roatan expressed their appreciation for receiving the royal treatment this night.... Another busy day, but it culminated with a powerful and successful women's conference! It was wonderful to see not only the results of a lot of our team's hard work, but all the women of Roatan come for the evening in their finest! There were about 400 in attendance.

The women were blessed with lots of music, drama, testimonies, liturgical dance and excellent teaching in both Spanish and English. At least one young woman gave her heart to the Lord!! - DG

Welcome to the 2024 edition of the Roatan Alive Mission (RAM)!!!  Monday July 8th - This year's theme was impressed upon team leader and ministry co-founder, Darla Sutherland, during her devoted prayer time for the mission earlier this year. The Lord impressed on her Matthew 24:44 - "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Are you Ready? is the theme for year 16 of the mission trip. This year's trip will be the largest contingent ever going, with over 50 committed; about half being from Canada and the other half from the USA. The team is comprised of members attending a variety of churches from the Greater Toronto Area, parts of southern Ontario, Florida, New York, Texas and as far as Switzerland. Day 2 - Rise and Shine - Give God the Glory!!!

Day 2 - Sunday July 14  Early morning walking crew 6:30am - Great to get exercise together and explore the town before it got too hot. We enjoyed building community with other team members as the Florida and Toronto team unite to serve together. It was so precious to hear team members’ stories of how they came to Christ and how God led them to serve in this mission. We were encouraged to see how God had orchestrated and ordained for each person to be here, each with different skills and different passions and different gifts to share. Morning God story Our team met the hotel wait staff who were serving us breakfast in the morning. She asked us what our group was doing for the day and we were able to share with them about the different girls camp events we would be running this afternoon. She shared with us that she has 3 daughters and right away we gave an invitation for her daughters to attend. Day 1 - We ARE Ready To Take Off!!!

  Saturday July 13 - It's TIME!!! RAM 2024 is in flight!!! After months of prayer and preparation, the majority of the Toronto team were packed and prepared to leave for Roatan! Lead this year, by Dan and Kimberley, all were brimming with excitement whether they were first-timers or veterans. What is so impressive is the number of youth that will be participating this year. God is raising up new workers! The Canadian team arrived bright eyed at Toronto Pearson Airport in the wee hours of Saturday morning for their flight. They will be joined by the rest of the team who are travelling from Florida, New York and Texas.  Please pray for safe travels, that flight connections will be made, luggage arrives safely, good health, encouragement, strength, unity and God's blessing of the fruit of the Spirit for the entire team.
