“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Tuesday July 28 - During our time of devotion this morning, Pastor Darrell shared a message about the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000 men. Reminding us that as followers of Jesus that there are things that he asks us to do but then others that only God can in His power. He also highlighted that while the disciples were receiving thanks from the  multitudes while they distributed the food that they would have been mindful to give praise to the Lord who had miraculously provided it. Little did we know how meaningful this message would be later that evening.

The Men’s Gathering has become a very popular event over the past number of years especially for men who rarely attend church events other than weddings and funerals. This year men turned out in record numbers, 115, locals from various parts of the island, as well as , 15 men from the Roatan Alive team. The event started with a welcome by Tio Charles then  worship music lead by Erick and Dan. This was followed by the sharing of a powerful testimony by Pastor Tommy and message from Pastor Daryll. After which the  men were asked at their tables, to reflect on their  current season of life, the challenges and purposes God has called you to embrace, what they were striving to complete with His help, and how they were  participating in His mission both within the Church and in the world. The men were then served a delicious plate of Honduran favourites, fried hog, yuca, arroz con pollo, chiceron and chimol before sending them off with final worship songs. Many men lingered after for conversation and fellowship with each other. - Darren
